Fused Alumina-Zirconia is produced by fusing high purity alumina and zircon sand together in an electric arc furnace in the proper ratios.
The resulting product is characterized by its unique properties.
Fused Alumina-Zirconia has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which results in a product with excellent thermal shock resistance and resistance to deformation under load.
It also exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to molten glass and metals.
Fused Alumina-Zirconia is used for many applications including glass and steel contact refractories, slide gates, nozzles, and other applications requiring a high purity raw material with excellent thermal shock resistance and hot strength.

Grit 40~80 are good for removing material and work well with power sanders.
Applications include:

Grit 100~150 perform well with both hand sanding and power sanding, preparing bare surfaces for finishes.
This range is good for:
– Smoothing work pieces

Grit 180~320 work for finishing.
Hand sanding is good for these applications:
– Removing raised woodgrain fibers
– Scuffing between finish coats
